Jolandi Du Preez
Jolandi is a qualified Occupational Therapist, with over 30 years of clinical experience. She gained her qualification in South Africa where she worked initially. For the past 20 years she has worked in the UK providing treatment to adults and adolescents in community settings, in-patient facilities as well as third sector and private practices.
She has specialist knowledge and experience in trauma and PTSD, for which she has developed and implemented specialist programmes. Jolandi is particularly passionate about supporting ex-service personnel facing mental health difficulties as a result of trauma experienced in their military service. Her practice also encompasses a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, including eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders for which she has designed and managed treatment programmes.
Jolandi’s approach is rooted in understanding ‘what matters to her clients’, motivating them on a path of self-discovery towards a happier, healthier, more fulfilled life. She uses Occupational Formulation to stay client-centred and occupation-focused and incorporates her training in Sensory Modulation, Sensory-Enhanced Yoga for Self-Regulation and Trauma Healing, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Eating Disorders and Motivational Interviewing into her occupational therapy practice. She believes in the power of group therapy and is also trained in The Occupational Therapy Interactive Group Model.
Throughout her career, she has not only focused on clinical practice but has also enjoyed sharing her passion for occupational therapy through training, public speaking and mentoring and supervision of colleagues.
